Podracer And Grasshopper Models

Anikin's Podracer

Blue Print Podracers
The image above shows blueprints that illustrates the design for Anikins racepod as seen in starwars. Designing this blueprint will help when modeling the racepod in 3DS Max. Once The model is completed  two Different texture will be placed onto the model. One of the two textures will make the racepod look rusty and the other will make the model look brand new. to add more effect onto the model a steel matrial will be used on the model as well. this is to make the Podracer look shiny. The  matiarl will not be used on the rusty texture. This image took 5-6 hours using many different reference images to help get the pod to look to scale. This well be an inorganic model.

UV Unwrap For Podracer

Podracer UV Unwrap
The UV unwarp (shown above) will be used to texture the podracers. The pod, engine and shield panels can be seen in the unwrap and so can the connects as well. the unwrap could have been done better for example the lower connect show as the old tube shape would have been flattened better.

Both_Texture_Sheets_For_Podracer

Podracer_Texture_Sheet_001
This texture for the Podracer is shiny and makes the model look brand new. The texture shows the colours for this model will be silver and yellow, like the colours used on Anikins Podracer seen in Starwars. However Anikins Podracer is more Dusty and dented. This texture has been painted using Photoshop and a graphic tablet.
Podracer_Texture_Sheet_002

The second texture for this model has been made to look rusty and uses brown and yellow colours. The texture used on this image is painted with textures taken from google placed over the top.

Finished Textured Model 001
This is a render of the finished model using Texture Sheet 001. The model has a metal material placed on it and also uses a glass material for the window on the dashboard.
Finished Texture Model 002

This image shows the second render of the model using the second texture design for this model.

Turnaround of Finished inorganic Model
Grasshopper Model
Blue Print Grasshopper
This blue print is of a grass hopper. A grasshopper is a green or brown insect that rubs its middle and back legs together to make noises. The blue print was drawn with pencil and paper, then was scanned into Photoshop  Once the image was scanned in,  it was then drawn over so that it looked neater and more professional. The legs have been separated from the body so that the body isn't hidden. This image only took 2 hours to draw over. This will be an organic model.
Render of Grasshopper from the side
This is an unfinished model as it has not yet been unwrapped or textured. The body and head of this model look ok however the back legs are a little to big and the front and middle legs need to be a little thicker. this model uses 5.540 poly's
Grasshopper UV Unwrap
The image above shows the unwrap of the grasshopper model. The insects body, head, legs and
antenna are larger the rest of the model because more detail is wanted on these areas. This unwrap like the Podracer could have been designed better however as it is my second attempted I quite like it.

Texture_001

This texture will make the grasshopper look like a nature insect. Grasshoppers are different colours like brown and yellow however i decided to go for the most comment coloured grasshopper which is green.
Texture_002

For the second texture i decided to make it yellow and replace the eyes with diamonds. This is to make the insect look like a solid gold statue. A metal material to make the model look more like a statue the a real insect.

Organic_Model_001

Finished render of textured model using Texture 001. This texture is the natural Grasshopper. There are a though things about this model that could be improved however for my second big model it looks good. The Texture looks a little flat on the model and the legs for this model could have been made thicker.

Organic_Model_002

The Metal material mixed with the yellow texture makes the grasshopper look like a convincing statue. the diamonds eyes could have been textured better but as little time was left to finish this model it will do for now. I might edit this model in the future to make it better.
